The Freeport's protected rich and fertile soil makes it a perfect host to a variety of ornamental, medicinal, and fruit-bearing trees and plants. From relatively common shrubs to gigantic trees, to rare species of the Kingdom Plantae, Subic Bay effortlessly epitomizes a sanctuary blessed with life that is enhanced by its inhabitants.

If forests all over the world are under assault, resulting in pletora of ecological afflictions such as destruction of natural habitats, extinction of biological diversity, and of vegetation, Subic forest has remained unscathed and enjoys good health.

The Flourishing Forests

A wide range of habitats id present in the forest because of the terrain, labyrinthine streams, fringing grassland and other breaks in the canopy. It is possible to draw an imginary line through rainforest, running water, grassland and mangrove habitats that blend marine sea grass and coral reef habitats.

Around 745 plant species, most of which blossom with succulent foliage or simply splash the forest floor with their lush splendor, are the exotic producers maintaining the earth's fecundity.

In the thick and lovely forest, creatures, great and small, nocturnal and diurdal display a wide variety of habit and ways of life.

Subic's forest is a known habitat for 200 species of birds.

Land of the animals

A wide range of animals live in the lush forest of Subic. From the Philippines' smallest bat, the Bamboo bat to the largest, Golden crowned Flying Fox and the Philippine Giant Fruit Bat, wild boars, and rare species of monkeys found only Asia, over 300 varieties of birds and species of insects have made Subic their home.

Subic's oceans are a sanctuary for a lot of marine life.

The Calm Seas

The vast sea before the Subic beaches can cast a spell over the imagination. What could offer a more splendid opportunity for a poetic meditation than the irridescent atmosphere of the sea created by the setting of the sun behind the misty Subic mountains?

Complementing the picturesque seascape is the abundant marine life of Subic. Thirty four species of mammals, reptiles, and amphibians thrive in the bay. They include sea eagles, orioles, kingfishers and wild ducks often seen in Triboa Bay, and endangered species of the Green Sea Turtle, olive Ridley Turtle and Hawskbill Turtle are found at Camayan and Miracle Beaches.
